Making the most of missing Tower Inferno

Lost souls benefit blackpool salsaSaturday 13th October should have seen the latest mega-salsa event in Blackpool - The Tower Inferno but it seems that quite late in the run up to the event it was sadly cancelled.

That was a slight disappointment for me because, personally, I've really enjoyed previous events. The combination of the fabulous venue and one of the biggest salsa crowds you will ever see is (was) a real spectacle. Add to that the fact that it was already cancelled by the time I heard it was on, if that makes any sense, means no harm done.

Not so impressed were the number of people who had travelled up from far and wide to attend the event. News got round that there were salseros from as far away as Plymouth in town with a desire to dance and no place to go so in steps knight in shining armour Allan from Noches-De-Salsa (www.noches-de-salsa.co.uk) with an offer of a room and an invite to the impromtu event.

So it was that the 'Lost Souls' event was born. Music and enjoyable tuition (especially the Merengue Wheel!) were provided by Jon from Salsa-Vida (www.salsa-vida.co.uk), Plymouth and the dancing was a mix of Cuban and Cross-Body with salseros from Blackpool, Plymouth, Lancaster, Nottingham and elsewhere.

I, for one, had a great time so thanks to all involved and thanks for all the lovely ladies for the dances. I hope you all have a safe trip home.
