There are shortcuts to happiness, and dancing is one of them.
Back home after a FAB time at Tempo Latino
Well, we thought it was going to be good but we didn't think it was going to be THAT GOOD!
Julia and Steve have just returned from 5 days in Southwest France in Vic-Fezensac and the Tempo Latino festival - 4 nights of Latin music and dancing that attracts over 15,000 people each year - a mix of dancers, musicians, artists, DJs, bands, market traders, locals and more all intent of having a great time.
Looking at past line-ups the live music is always top-notch and the past 21 years have seen the biggest and best in Latin music performing in the biggest venue in town - the bull ring. This year's headliners kept up that tradition - Oscar D'Leon, Africando, Kassav' and Tipica 73 and they brought the roof down, or they would have if the venue had a roof.
Well into the night in the town along the main street and some side roads there is music playing in all the bars and dancing takes place in and around these. At times, especially Saturday night, the streets are like a vast sea of people, most of them dancing and those that aren't dancing appear to be on their way to enjoy other bars along the road.
Accommodation wasn't easy to find, neither were parking spaces and we nearly got lost in the depths of the French countryside but will definitely be going back for more. Probably next year, hopefully with friends - anyone up for it?
