Sometimes you have to just let go and see what happens.
Cuban Fury - Salsa Dance Film - February 2014
The film of the year for salsa dancers reaches cinemas on February 14th 2014 or Valentines Day as it is known for the romantics among us.
Cuban Fury is the story of a once talented young dancer who, after a freak accident, has let himself go somewhat over the years and now finds himself living a quite uninspired existence. He's an everyman character who turns to dance to spice up his life - something that many of us can relate to because a lot of of us who already go to salsa classes are people just like him. Hopefully this film will show that salsa dancing is just for snake-hipped contortionists dressed in see through flamboyant shirts. It is also for normal, average people.
I will admit that most classes don't have teachers of the quality of Yanet Fuentes Torres and Susana Montero but the passion and fun is nearly always present in any class throughout the country.
From what I've seen of the film trailer it looks like it's going to be a lot of fun and hopefully there will be a feel-good message at the end that will inspire more people to come along to class and find out what all salsa dancers already know - that dancing regularly is just a great way to spend your time.
So the release date is Valentines Day - does that mean that we will love the film? I hope so.
